Dr. Erika Wood
Dr. Wood has been working in the dental field for nearly a full decade so far. At All About Kids Dentistry, she really enjoys being able to help our younger patients overcome their fears in the treatment chair and leave each appointment with a genuine smile! Why Did You Want to Become a Dentist?
During her college years, Dr. Wood needed orthodontic treatment, which led to many dental visits. She realized over time that she really liked watching her orthodontist interact with other patients and build relationships with them. Soon enough, she knew that dentistry was the right fit for her as well, and she’s never looked back.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
After completing her undergraduate degree at Loyola University in Chicago, Dr. Wood pursued her Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Indiana University School of Dentistry. She is passionate about lifelong learning, regularly completing continuing education courses virtually or at dental conferences. She is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society.
What Do You Like to Do Outside of the Dental Office?
Dr. Wood is happily married with two children at home. When she isn’t busy caring for growing teeth, she enjoys hanging out with her loved ones, traveling to new places, and living an active lifestyle by exercising at Orange Theory and Pure Barre. Here’s something you may not know about her: she speaks Polish!
